Calf Weaning Rings

IMG_8480

  • The nose rings are held in place by a wing nut and the bolt that tightens the plastic ring in the nose.
  • The nose ring is made so that it does not pierce the nose and the tension in the plastic acts as a lock nut so that it will not  unloosen.
  • A weaning ring is applied to a young Heifer for the purpose of preventing sucking.
  • The purpose is to dry up lactation but still maintain the bond between the cow and calf without any stress.
